Teaching Non-Violence Through Martial Arts
Equal Rights Advocacy
This program was created out of a desire to empower women by giving them the skills and techniques required to defend and protect themselves. The program, which focuses on the self-defense and close quarters combat tactics of Wing Chun Kung Fu, Shotokan Karate, and Jujitsu, teaches students to effectively deal with most common offensive techniques with speed and accuracy.
We strive to inspire a feeling of unity within our community so people feel empowered to stand up for themselves and each other so that abuse and violence will have no place in our lives.
Students learn theory, philosophical ideologies and practical methods needed to avoid violent interactions. In the event that violence is unavoidable, students will have the skills and techniques needed to defend themselves and others.
We believe that no person has the right to physically or emotionally impose his/her will, opinion, or actions on another. All human beings - regardless of age, class, religion, or gender - are created equal and deserve to be treated with respect. No one life is worth more than another.
All genders are welcome to participate in this program, on equal ground. Together, we create a trusting space in which to train with discipline, hold courageous discourse, and cultivate respect. Together, we heal.
